Art Ability, creative expression for people of all abilities

Art Ability, creative expression for people of all abilities

The Art Ability program will provide an opportunity for people with disability in our community to engage in various forms of art including painting, sculpture, and photography.

Community Living Association (CLA) in partnership with Vancouver Arts Centre has been successful in acquiring a $25,000 grant from the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGS) Creative Communities Covid-19 Recovery funding program to deliver Art Ability.

The 8-week program will be held at Vancouver Arts Centre and the art workshops will be facilitated by local artists Gail Gates, Tracey Margetts, and Bob Symons. The program will culminate in a weeklong exhibition to showcase participants work which will be open to the public.

Participants over 16 years who have a Disability Support Pension (DSP) pension card are eligible to register for the program.

Art Ability is set to run from 10 August until 30 September, with weekly workshops being held on Tuesdays and Thursdays. To register please contact Vancouver Arts Centre onĀ  6820 3740. The workshops are free, and places are strictly limited.
