With the festive and holiday period coming to an end and everyone getting back into the swing of things, I’d like to wish you all a very happy 2022. Our Christmas Party and 30th celebration was a resounding success and enjoyed by all involved.
The new Omicron wave in WA has brought about a challenging start to the new year for many people with disability and their support workers. It seems to have infiltrated every aspect of our day-to-day lives! Rest assured that CLA has a COVID Outbreak Management Team which has extensively prepared for the eventuality of outbreaks and the probability of staff shortages due to necessary isolation.
We are actively advocating behind the scenes for free access to Rapid Antigen Tests for people with disability and, through the National Disability Insurance Agency, for support workers too. This is all in conjunction with supply chain shortages and other services having to close due to these pressures. Yet as we prepare for these challenges, I want to let you all know that Community Living Association is here for each and every person in our CLA family and will be throughout 2022.
Our strategic alliance with Therapy Focus commenced in January and will assist greatly in ensuring that the complete suite of clinical allied health services, which were facing extensive wait times, will soon be resolved. Should you require any of these services, please don’t hesitate to contact CLA reception who will provide you with their contact details.
