CEO Update – January 2021

The past year has been a very positive one for Community Living Association, predominantly in terms of customer fulfillment, staff culture, development and financial sustainability as we continue to navigate the interesting environment of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

CLA is fully committed to the success of the NDIS because of the assistance it promises for people with disability. However, the NDIS roll-out has presented many unique challenges for families and also for providers. A review of the transition to date, shows that implementation problems continue and we are actively supporting the NDIS to improve both by direct interactions and through NDS, our peak body. In consideration of this, we are very proud to announce that we have transitioned our Quality Management Systems to align with the international Human Services Framework ISO 9001 and we received accreditation in December. CLA was one of the first organisations in Western Australia in the disability field to achieve this.

Every day, we are making a difference to the lives of the people who choose us to deliver their supports. We look forward to this new year and being able to make an even greater impact with Certainty, Esteem, Excellence and Compassion in everything we do. It is a privilege working with CLA and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers, staff, community and Board who share our commitment to enabling opportunities for people to experience choice, inclusion and achievement in their lives.
