Melinda’s homemade spaghetti bolognese


  • 500g extra lean beef mince
  • 250g bottled pasta sauce
  • 1 can of diced tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon of herbs and spices
  • A squeeze of tomato and barbeque sauce
  • Salt and pepper
  • 125g of pasta

Pasta sauce

  • Cook mince on medium heat until browned
  • Add pasta sauce, diced tomatoes and tomato/barbeque sauces to mince
  • Cook for a further 10 to 15 minutes
  • Add herbs and spices


  • Boil water on medium heat
  • Add a pinch of salt and pasta
  • Cook until soft, then drain the water
  • Serve with the bolognese sauce and enjoy
