 The Role

CLA has an exciting opportunity for a First Nation Project Officer to promote our services to indigenous communities in remote areas of the Great Southern.  The role offers the opportunity to develop a sustainable First Nation workforce providing NDIS registered services to their families and loved ones with a disability.  If you are seeking a highly autonomous position, opportunities to travel and a chance to change the lives of many indigenous families apply now!

Criteria

  • First Nation and/or Torres Strait Islander
  • Qualification in First Nation Studies for Professional and Community Development or equivalent
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven experience working effectively with Noongar people and communities
  • A good understanding of the barriers that Noongar people face in training and employment & strategies to overcome these
  • First Nations Nationality is essential for this position in accordance with Section 50D of the Equal Opportunity Act
  • Qualification in Community Development, and/or extensive practical experience in providing high level First Nation Project Management
  • Extensive knowledge of the Great Southern Region and its people
  • Marketing capabilities to promote CLA’s expansion programme
  • Working with Great Southern Noongar communities in Health, NDIS or employment services will be highly regarded
  • Produce a COVID 19 Vaccination Certificate, in line with the Public Health Order, as issued by the Western Australian Government
