Positive Behaviour Support
Positive Behaviour Support is aimed at increasing the well-being and quality of people with a disability requiring behaviour support, along with a focus on community inclusion, recreation and participation of activities out in the community. Tasks are undertaken in the context of supporting the person to maintain their well-being, explore opportunities and work towards enhancing capacity and agreed outcomes that are important to and for the person. Models of support that use situational management and focus on using interventions for addressing behaviours of concern as they arise are utilised. The approach is proactive and can promote the least restrictive approach.
