Amplified Albany – Celebrating Every Voice a Resounding Success

The recent ‘Amplified Albany – Celebrating Every Voice’ concert held on Thursday 7 November at Albany Town Hall, was a resounding success, showcasing a sold-out evening filled with music, connection, and inclusivity. Hosted by Community Living Association (CLA), the event highlighted the power of inclusion in the arts and celebrated the unique contributions of people with disability to the Albany community.

A standout moment was the performance by the Singability choir, whose inspiring voices joined forces with the talented WA Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) Band. Together, they delivered a moving musical experience that brought together young, emerging musicians and the choir, highlighting the value of diversity.

“This event provided a real joyful moment of connection through the power of music and singing,” said CLA’s Community Development Officer Claudia Simpson. “We witnessed the magic that happens when everyone, regardless of ability, can come together to share their passion for music.”

CLA is immensely proud of this achievement and the positive impact of ‘Amplified Albany’ in creating an inclusive platform where every voice can be celebrated. This event marks a significant milestone in promoting accessibility and representation within the performing arts.

The choir was also supported by local band the ‘Lele Birds’ and conducted by Teresa Hughes.

The event was possible thanks to funding support from Rio Tinto.
